Karen Fabian is the Founder of Bare Bones Yoga. Her passion is health and wellness and she has a background in yoga teaching, anatomy and rehabilitation counseling through her initial work as a Social Worker and Rehab Counselor and then over 20 years in a variety of health care business settings. Karen has her B.S in Rehab Counseling from Boston University, her Master's in Health Care Administration from Simmons College, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR and was one of the first Baptiste Certified Teachers. She also is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine.
She has taught since 2002, teaches anatomy to yoga teachers and her first book, "Stretched: Build Your Yoga Business, Grow Your Teaching Techniques, which was self published, has sold over 500 copies. Her second book, an e book called "The Key Aspects of Anatomy for Yoga Teachers" guides readers through essential principles of anatomy in the context of movement. Her third book, "The Bare Bones Yoga Guide to Anatomy" is an anatomy manual for teachers which she sells via her website. In May, 2017, she released her next book, called "Structure and Spirit: Moving Smarter, Both On and Off the Mat," which details themes of yoga anatomy as well as spiritual and personal development themes. She offers online courses on the anatomy of yoga, free videos on her You Tube channel and also was the Host and Producer of her own TV show on wellness called "Living Well" in Boston.
She lives in Boston, teaches classes and workshops there.
