Lebo Goad (she/her) is registered with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges her completion of a 500-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Assets Teacher Training Systems (RYS).
Proudly identifying as a South African black woman, Lebo currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification from Cambridge Health Alliance - Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital, and a variety of certifications across different yoga methodologies.
In addition to her RYT designations, she is a trained birth educator and ambassador for Prenatal International, an ambassador for lululemon, and the Executive Director for Yoga Forward.
Lebo's passion lies in serving underserved and underrepresented communities. She facilitates yoga classes and teacher trainings for a diverse range of groups, including incarcerated individuals at the Utah Department of Corrections, refugees at the Utah Refugee Center, teachers and parents in the Salt Lake and Granite School Districts, military veterans at the Salt Lake VA, and women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse at the YWCA Utah. Additionally, she has facilitated yoga classes for medical staff at Intermountain Hospital.
Serving as a participant in the Yoga Alliance Teaching for Equity cohort, she continues to engage in conversations about inclusion and equity within the yoga community. Her advocacy efforts include collaborating with the Black Physicians of Utah (BPOU) to promote health and wellness in the BIPOC community, and working with the Lesego Tau Education Foundation (LTEF) to offer yoga and Mindfulness-Based workshops at youth retreats in Soweto, South Africa. Lebo has facilitated a lecture for the Master of Social Work class at the Utah Valley University and was invited as a guest speaker at the Zonta International Club of Salt Lake, where she spoke highly in advocacy of the healing benefits of yoga. Notably, Lebo was invited to present on "Yoga As A Tool For Mental Health" at the 2023 American Correctional Association’s annual national conference, where she also provided yoga and meditation classes to national correctional staff during the 4 day conference.
Lebo Goad is deeply committed to lifelong learning, continually seeking knowledge and skills to teach yoga as a means of helping individuals navigate trauma, compassion fatigue, stress, and lifestyle changes.
