Jody Marie Hassel, MFA, E-RYT, TCTSY-F
Jody first tried yoga at an athletic club in 1985. Over the years, her integrated practice of hatha, vinyasa, Kundalini, and restorative yoga has allowed her to recover from adverse experiences and trauma. Jody received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification from Yandara Yoga Institute in Iyengar-based hatha yoga in 2007. Prior to her work at Yandara, she completed Seane Corn’s Vinyasa Teacher Training at Kripalu in 2006. She received her 300-hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator certification from the Justice Resource Institute’s Trauma Center in 2016 and dedicated to facilitating yoga in a way that prioritizes and fosters agency and empowerment for trauma survivors. Her additional work in Off the Mat into the World training at the Omega Institute has informed her practice of yoga as an integrative tool for social justice. Jody is committed to creating accessible, trauma-informed yoga programs for diverse communities and offers Half-Day seminars and 20-Hour trainings in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga for clinicians and yoga teachers.
