About Philip Clift

Philip has enjoyed a life-long passion for exploring and optimizing the human body and soul. That passion first found expression in his study of massage. After receiving his training at the Atlanta School of massage, Philip began experimenting with a variety of deep tissue modalities. Fusing those with Thai massage and Ashiatsu, Philip developed a massage style that is uniquely his own. Philip discovered yoga by happenstance over 25 years ago. Inspired by a single magazine cover featuring a compelling photo of a practioner in Kukkutasana, Philip launched into a multi-decade study of the practice with a focus on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (variations of which are commonly taught in the US as "Power Yoga"). It's no exaggeration to say that yoga has become Philip's life purpose. Supplementing his traditional Ashtanga foundation with modern sequencing philosophies, Philip has created a unique style of yoga called Khai yoga. Students describe Philip's Khai yoga as challenging, centering and even hypnotizing. Unlike most modern yoga where hands on adjustments are discouraged in favor of verbal cues, Philip's Khai yoga teaches primarily through an intuitive touch guided by decades of studying anatomy and massage.
