Attending yoga classes started as a reward for myself after overcoming personal struggles with my mental health and body image. I was drawn to the presence I felt during a regular yoga practice that created moments of understanding and compassion toward myself. Recognizing the importance of this new-found connection with myself, I decided to deepen my practice and, while attending classes for my graduate program, I completed a yoga teacher training with my local yoga studio.
In the years since, my ongoing yogic and clinical trainings provide me opportunities to grow professionally and heal personally. From my experiences as a somatic-based, trauma-informed clinician and yoga facilitator, I have come to deeply appreciate the importance of establishing safety for survivors of trauma, as well as the ongoing process of healing and recovery they live. These understandings are central to my practice setting as I continue to work with those impacted by complex trauma through the therapeutic and yogic services offered at my private practice.
Whether as your clinician or yoga facilitator, my purpose is to create and hold space for you to lean into vulnerability and discover your true, authentic self. I believe the process of healing begins from within and understand from personal experience this path may be difficult when walked alone. Turning inward and fully embracing your embodied self — where you are consciously aware of the full spectrum of your human experience — can be difficult, but you do not have to go it alone. When you are ready to take the next step and awaken your inner healer, know that I am ready to walk with you, on the mat or off.
In kindness,
Pamela Sue
