About
Kathleen Barratt
Kathleen has over 30 years’ professional experience in facilitating and teaching breathwork. In the early 1980s, she developed an interest in breathwork as a dynamic tool for personal and spiritual growth. She trained in various breathwork methods that encouraged hyperventilation and strong emotional catharsis. Over time, she found herself being drawn to a subtler approach to the breath, inspired by her studies in bioenergy with Mietek and Margaret Wirkus. Stepping away from systems that placed control upon the breath, she has developed a more yin approach to breathwork that has its roots in the Eastern systems of breath meditation. The core premise of Kathleen's work is not about mastering a breath technique; rather it is about cultivating a relationship of receptivity and openness with the natural breath. This unique approach to breathwork not only rejuvenates the mind and body but also opens a gateway to higher consciousness and our own inner powers of transformation. Kathleen's breathwork system, Restorative Breathwork®, has evolved out of years of study, personal practice, and experience with thousands of clients. Kathleen holds a Master Certificate in Bioenergy through the Wirkus School of Bioenergy.
