About LV Chair Yoga Australia

Claire, from Sydney is an expert in her field. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport & Exercise Science, among many other Fitness-related certifications. Claire began in the Fitness Industry as a Gym Supervisor in 1998, expanding to Personal Training and Group Fitness in 1999.

During her time in the industry she developed a passion for helping others to live not only healthier, but happier lives. She is dedicated to creating sessions that are welcoming and inclusive for everybody. Her classes are beneficial for the physical body, but are also fun and empowering - inspiring people to feel connected, happier, and live life to the fullest, no matter who they are, or what stage of life they are at. Her goal is to improve lives, positively impacting anyone she encounters.

Lately, Claire’s focus has been on our older population. After working with seniors for many years in exercise and Zumba Gold, she became increasingly aware of a need for yoga programs that were more accessible to her older, less mobile students.

Finding no training in Australia for this population, in 2014 she travelled to New York and completed Lakshmi Voelker’s Chair Yoga (LVCY) Teacher Training. It was a life changing decision. Not only did she learn many ways to help her students feel better and improve their quality of life, but she returned feeling inspired - an improved, more compassionate teacher with a wealth of knowledge under her belt. Since then, she has been teaching classes while travelling to New York multiple times to assist and train extensively with Lakshmi. In 2016 she became an Accessible Yoga Ambassador and decided that to share LVCY with more people, she needed qualified teachers in Australia. So, she became and is now successfully established as the LVCY Teacher Trainer for the Australia/NZ region.
