About
Elizabeth Haberer
Elizabeth found yoga in 2000, when she was seeking a new way to approach fitness and a way to tame her anxious mind while completing her graduate studies. She obtained her certification in a Baptiste Power Yoga studio in Houston 2009. Her practice grew in a different direction after that, and Elizabeth's practice and teaching was greatly influenced by her Forrest Yoga Guardian teachers Ann Hyde and Catherine Allen, who have taught her embodied presence in a visceral way.
Elizabeth has been fortunate to have studied with influential teachers who have shaped the course of her breath and spirit, including teachers in the Ashtanga and the Bhakti tradition, which took her to India in 2012.
Elizabeth is a psychotherapist in private practice and has worked with trauma survivors in various settings for almost two decades. Elizabeth obtained specialized training in trauma-sensitive Yoga through the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute in Massachusetts. She founded THRIVE as a way to incorporate the therapeutic benefits of yoga into people's path. THRIVE offers classes, trainings for yoga teachers and clinicians. THRIVE's primary intent is to help people establish a trusting relationship with their bodies.
