I absolutely love to share all aspects of health and wellness in my professional and personal life. As a former healthcare investor, I developed a deep interest in lower back pain, cancer, and auto-immune issues. I spent countless hours researching their causes and sadly, the shortfalls of existing solutions. As a result, I wanted to help people prevent these issues through lifestyle changes *before* more serious intervention is required. To do so, I built on my background as a martial artist and dancer to become a personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and most recently, a yoga instructor.
I completed my 200 hour teacher training through Three Sisters Yoga, a vinyasa-based program with exposure to the Iyengar and Hatha lineages. I hold my Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications through NASM, and I’m also an AFAA-certified personal trainer. I am a blackbelt in Taekwondo, a former dance instructor and cheerleading captain, and trained with my college boxing club. All of these styles and training methodologies have influenced my training style, which I would describe as highly dynamic, customized, and holistic.
When I teach yoga and other forms of fitness training, I’m not doing so just to help my students achieve physical benefits. I also seek to empower my students, to inspire positivity and creativity, and to have a whole lot of fun.
