Mary Richards has taught alignment-based yoga since 2002. A practitioner since 1992, most of her training has been in the Iyengar tradition. Mary has studied with Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., PT, for more than a decade and assists Judith at workshops around the United States. Her teaching is informed by her personal practice experience of more than two decades as well as perspective and understanding gained in credited coursework in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. She has also been influenced by extensive supervised experience interacting with a serious injury to her left knee sustained while hiking and a corresponding strain injury to her right hip. Mary is particularly skilled at modification of asana. She teaches registration-only small-group and private classes as well as workshops in the Washington, D.C. area. She also teaches workshops at studios across the United States. Mary holds an M.S. from University of Integrative Health. With Judith Hanson and Lizzie Lasater, Mary released a digital movement literacy course in December 2017. For more info, visit www.experientialanatomy.yoga.
