Registered with Yoga Alliance since 2002, Cynthia Woodring began her movement studies with ballet as a child and modern dance into adulthood. She discovered yoga in 1993 and began teaching in 1995. She has a Master of Science from Maryland University of Integrative Health, is certified by the IAYT, and is a Phoenix Rising practitioner.
Her yoga training began with Integral Yoga and continued with Iyengar and Anusara methods. Memorable teachers include Sandra Pleasants, Erich Schiffmann, Desiree Rumbaugh, Sarah Powers, and Doug Keller. She has also studied body mechanics and the Pilates method with Carla Shifflett. She is passionate about refining her understanding of all aspects of yoga and strives to find the language and methods that will provoke the deepest understanding and transformation for her students.
Cynthia currently teaches alignment- and awareness-based mid-level hatha yoga classes at Nowyoga in Charlottesville, Virginia and is available for private sessions and workshops.
