Swami Vidyananda began practicing Yoga in 1969. She has been teaching Integral Yoga and training Yoga Teachers since 1973. She co-developed and has taught Yoga Stress Management Teacher Training since 1966. She currently serves as director of the Integral Yoga Therapy Training.
Vidyananda lives in Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville, Virginia where she teaches all branches of Integral Yoga, including Meditation, Hatha, Jnana and Raja Yoga. She travels widely, teaching Yoga for Stress Management, for Emotional Resilience, and Yoga Therapy through the Koshas. She trained Yoga teachers throughout the US and Canada, Australia, Europe, and India. Her online trainings serve Yoga Teachers and Therapists around the world.
For many years Vidyananda traveled with Swami Satchidananda, serving as his translator into French. She has taught Yoga in many diverse programs, including Smith Center Retreats for People Living with Cancer, for Children with Down Syndrome, and Yoga for persons with eating disorders. She trained as a hospital chaplain at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
