As a Yoga Alliance certified 500-hour instructor, Peter has incorporated the Inner Harmony Yoga Institute, with graduating students in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Steeped in the tradition of Kundalini yoga, a combination of Hatha and Raja yoga, the 200-hour and 300-hour teacher-training courses are readily available and affordable to all serious yoga students.
Teacher: Transpersonal Coach and Spiritual Transformer
With a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Psychology, Peter’s work goes beyond traditional health and wellness body practices. He is currently continuing his education at Saybrook University where he is pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Mind-Body. Peter strives to help his private clients understand their mind-body connection, while encouraging them to embrace the spiritual dimension of their lives. Interpreting, living and integrating this spiritual realm into daily life continues to be Peter’s strongest and most enduring passion. With twenty-two years of sobriety, which included the twelve-step program. Peter’s tried-and-true approach to prayer and meditation is the cornerstone of his Inner Harmony Workshops, which have helped thousands of men and women develop a new understanding of the 11th Step, recommit to their recovery, and enjoy lives filled with peace, passion, and purpose. Peter is certified in teaching Primordial Sound Meditation for the Chopra Institute. He is ordained as a lay monk in the Mahayana Tradition of Buddhism, having received the lamp transmission directly from Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Zen author and poet, Thich Nhat Hanh.
Educator: Inner Harmony Integral Education
Peter’s work in the educational arena has been widespread. He has worked closely with the American Cancer Society and the CDC. He designed and instituted a holistic cancer care program using alternative modalities that was proven beneficial to cancer patients. Peter was the co-founder (with Andrew Weil, M.D.) and past chair of the National Integrative Medicine Council. Amato has worked with the Department of Education to deliver a stress reduction program for elementary school children in the Scranton PA School District. This program helped children learn how to address stress, increase their ability to focus, and reduce aggression and increase joy in learning. His work was featured at the 11th Annual International Scientific Conference for Clinicians, Researchers, and Educators in Norwood, MA.

Peter is an international lecturer and presenter who travels extensively, and offers his voice on such topics as consciousness and culture, personal growth, engaged spirituality for businesses and the Inner Harmony Approach to Extraordinary Leadership.
Consultant: Corporate Wellness Inner Harmony Approach
Peter’s work goes far beyond private coaching. For nearly two decades, Peter has worked as a transformational consultant with organizations and groups in four Key areas: education, health care, recovery and addiction and corporate. Peter’s unique Inner Harmony Approach is packaged into workshops, wellness programs and retreats. In the past, Peter and the Inner Harmony Group have served as consultants on various business models worldwide.
Integrative OUTPATIENT FACILITY
In 2010, Peter became a founding partner in the Integrative Life Center in Nashville, TN. The center focuses on addressing addictions, eating disorders and trauma in an outpatient setting. Care at the ILC is about transformation. The ILC will eventually open centers in Phoenix and Malibu.
Volunteer
Although his plate is more than full, Peter still finds time to give back. He had volunteered his time as a meditation instructor in the Pennsylvania State Correctional System and has received a Distinguished Service Award from the State. In the area of substance abuse rehabilitation centers, he has fostered the development of programs for adults and adolescents that successfully employ integrative medicine techniques.
