With nearly 13 years of teaching experience and 21 years of practice, my journey in yoga began with the completion of my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Yoga Yoga in Austin, TX. I later deepened my practice through an additional 200-hour training with Interconnected Yoga, guided by the brilliant Sarah Clark, and went on to complete my 300-hour certification under the mentorship of Dina Kleiman. My Ashtanga studies have been enriched by learning from esteemed teachers such as David Swenson, Richard Freeman, and students of Tim Miller, including Michelle Hackett and Kati Reszegi. In the realm of Anatomy and Physiology, I’ve had the privilege of studying with Leslie Kaminoff, Rose Erin Vaughan, and through the comprehensive Science of Yoga program.
I am the founder and lead educator at Nellia Fleur Yoga LLC and FLEUR KIDS YOGA, educating adults and our little ones about movement, breath and connection. My privilege is to run “No Mud No Lotus” Yoga Teacher Training which has proudly graduated several cohorts of new teachers. Working along the side of gifted and generous teachers and students is my honor. In May 2025, I am thrilled to be launching the No Mud No Lotus 300HR YTT in Corpus Christi, TX.
My teaching experience also includes serving on the faculty of the Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi. Most recently, I partnered with local Yoga studio to help bring to life their inaugural 200HR YTT, celebrating our first graduating class in January 2024.
Beyond my yoga credentials, I hold a B.S. in Human Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. My professional background includes work in the medical device field, where I managed a cadaver lab focused on spinal anatomy and pathology—offering me a rare, firsthand understanding of what can occur when the body is neglected. I also worked as a Functional Neurophysiologist in operating rooms within the Christus Spohn Health System. This role further deepened my understanding of the intricate relationship between spinal and nervous system anatomy, inspiring my continued commitment to sharing practices that support the health and longevity of body, mind, and spirit.
Love, Nellia
