In 2014, I was talking with a friend about the back pain I was suffering with and they recommended yoga. It was a life-changing experience. Although I was not very flexible to begin with and all of the poses were extremely challenging, the practice of yoga captivated me. Every movement was a magical awakening that I couldn't get enough of.
In 2015, the horrors of a gruesome armed war started in my home country that forced me to leave. I moved first to Denmark and then to China where I had a myriad of different experiences. My practice not only stayed with me but also helped me to see the challenges I was undergoing on my own personal journey. Yoga gave me the peace of mind to reframe "the curses sent to punish me" into "the lessons and values in the beauty of life".
In 2017, this beautiful life threw another curve ball at me with a knee injury that risked my possibility of not being able to practice yoga for nine months. Fortunately, I found mindfulness meditation. The mindfulness practice helped me to get through postoperative rehab and complimented my yoga practice by equipping me with tools to take care of my body and mind during the most difficult of times.
In 2022, I aspired to share my acquired knowledge to those who were interested. I completed a yoga teacher training at Yoga for Yogi school where qualified instructors helped me to deepen and improve my practice.
In 2023, I continued my education and became a certified mindfulness teacher. The practice of yoga and mindfulness has changed my life and for this reason, I'm happy to be on this journey and share it with you.
