Katie is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, having completed her 200-hour TT in 2022 (Baptiste Power method). She has since completed 100-hr Mindful Yin Yoga and introductory Yin Somatics trainings with Jennifer Raye (BC, Canada).
She is fascinated by the gentle power of combining intentional movement, mindfulness, and yin stretching as a means for regulating the nervous system and soothing the mind, while keeping our bodies limber and high-functioning. She is enjoying this new journey and grateful for her teachers, especially Jennifer Raye - and to the instructors she frequents during her own practice - for their welcoming, inspired guidance. She is certain that the infinite teachings of yoga, combined with deeper dives into Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Buddhism, will take her down many paths, and !looks so forward to each exploration.
Katie teaches barre and yoga at Tru Barre Studio (Akron and Medina, OH) and guides private clients and small groups at her studio in West Akron, RAIN Space, LLC. Besides a deep love for yin, Katie also teaches Hatha and traditional Vinyasa classes, chair yoga (sub for Silver Sneakers) and mat pilates. She might teach a power yoga class here or there, but prefers to keep that one close, for her own practice!
