She later began studying Tibetan Buddhism under Geshe Kalsang Rapgyal in the Tibetan Gelug tradition which deeply influenced her understanding of the yogic way of life and impressed the importance of concentration and meditation. She traveled to the Himalayan region of northern India to expand her practice, primarily studying both Buddhism and Ashtanga Yoga. In Dharamshala, India (2016) she completed a Yoga teacher training program in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Vijay Amar, a student of B.N.S. Iyengar of Mysore.
Kay has dedicated much of her studies and practice to inner nāda yoga, and dhāraṇā techniques. She is also a practitioner of Ayurveda and certified in Ayurvedic Acupressure (marma healing) which includes the use of applied sound vibration. She completed her marma healing practicum with Dr. Vasant Lad.
Her sessions work to facilitate both rejuvenating and transformative experiences. Her practice and teaching style are deeply influenced by her studies in Buddhism, emphasizing the importance of cultivating awareness, and compassion as part of a yogic way of life and healing.
