I truly believe yoga found me. I discovered the art as a child when I found a book in my grandparent's basement. The first chance I had to experience a class, I jumped at the opportunity. I was hooked. I began practicing in 2005, got a subscription to Yoga Journal, and started to incorporate a yogic lifestyle.
Before getting certified, I focused on studying another passion - holistic health. I got my certification as a holistic health coach at IIN & continued on to get a BA at Goddard College in holistic health. During my time at Goddard, I started pursuing my yoga teacher certification in Ashtanga, something completely different than the Vinyasa style I was familiar with. Years later, my daughter was born & shifted my whole world. My experience during pregnancy drove me to become a birth doula & get certified in prenatal yoga.
When I teach, I bring lightheartedness to the mat. Moving in your body should be fun. I infuse several elements of yoga beyond asana (movement) to include meditation, breath work.
I enjoy teaching prenatal, Vinyasa & yin.
When you join me on the mat, I hope you feel that you are met with acceptance & the ability to drop your shields so that you can unlock all the goodness that yoga offers. We'll share a smile, maybe a laugh & enjoy movement & breath.
Beyond yoga & holistic health, my passion is quality time with my family, traveling, reading, & learning. I am a birth nerd & my doula work. I'm always listening to a podcast on birth or reading a relatable book.
My self-care practice includes: yoga & gym movement, meditation, breath work, journaling, and time outside.
