I am a trauma-informed practicioner with training in mindfulness, breathwork, heart rate variability techniques (HRV), and postural alignment education (YogAlign). As an herbalist, I often integrate plant allies into my yogic practice to assist and support the mind-body-spirit in the form of teas, tinctures, essences, oils, and living presence.
I have been living yoga in body, mind, and spirit for over 2 decades.
I took a yoga course for credit in my second year of college at the ripe age of 19, and so began my journey of profound transformation. My study and integration of the wisdom found on this path has continued ever since, leading to academic studies in eastern philosophy and meditation, as well as professional training in multiple yogic modalities with a variety of teachers and mentors over the years.
Through yoga, I am able to ground and center myself in my body and focus my mind, while simultaneously opening my heart and lifting my spirit. Yoga acts as a solid but ever-transforming rock, shaping and shaped by the wind of my breath and the water that is my body, ebbing and flowing in rhythms and cycles. My awareness of and relationship to my mind-body continues to deepen and change. My idea of and attachment to self continues to shift and loosen. My breath is the only constant.
I have used this beautiful and essential practice to calm and sharpen my mind, and to realign, rehabilitate, and strengthen my body after minor and serious injuries alike. Yogic philosophy has woven itself throughout all aspects of my life, inspiring and facilitating health and healing. My relationship to this practice is that of a spiraling vine, rooted in the earth, supported by and growing in tandem with an ancient and expansive tree that reaches toward the heavens.
I flow like water, with gentle strength, following the way of least resistance and creating my own path when necessary.
