Life is a journey.  My journey transitioned from classroom teacher to full-time caregiver.  I found yoga gave me many tools for self-care.  Throughout my life I have returned to yoga during times of need.  After a traumatic brain injury (TBI), yoga helped me return to function and being able to work again.  Through yoga I was able to find strength and balance again.  The physical demands of a caregiver can be extreme.  Yoga is functional movement that develops the muscles and strong movements I need. The yoga philosophy and movement also help me use my energy effectively. I am now Oklahoma State Director for Veterans Yoga Project and teaching Veterans yoga. I'm a facilitator for Red Cross Military and Veterans Caregiver Network support groups. I have studied adaptive and trauma informed teaching. My husband is a military veteran with PTSD and mobility challenges.  Meditation and mindfulness moments really help with relaxation, calming, resilience, and finding balance in life.  Life is a Journey …. We all need a Journey’s Rest.
