Shonna is trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha-based Anusara, Meditation, Samkhya Philosophy and Yoga Nidra, all styles she actively practices. She has had the honour of studying under Erin Evans, Lydia Zamorano, Curran Watts and Sasha
Bahador. With over 2,900 teaching hours under
her belt so far, and over 700 hours of facilitated training, she’s continually drawn to alignment-based principles, creative freedom, the lore of yogic philosophy and hip hop + punk rock.
Shonna's primary vocation is in the field of philanthropy where she has worked with charities for over 15 years. She teaches yoga at two local studio's, one of the addictions recovery centres and facilitates Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the University of Lethbridge Health Sciences department as part of clinical trials. Lastly, Shonna founded Pop Up Yoga Lethbridge in 2015 where she offers donation based yoga to the community to make the practice of yoga accessible to as many people possible, regardless of their race, dogma, socio-economic status, sexual orientation or race.
