Judy Evans is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). She completed her first 200 hour level training with the Yoga Academy of North America (classical, Hatha yoga, pranayama, and meditation) and a second 200 hour training with Integrative Yoga Therapy. She has also completed basic and advanced training in Yoga Nidra, pranayama, and meditation. She has a special interest in yoga philosophy and its relevance to yoga practice, and offers  classes on the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. Her ongoing Sanskrit study deepens her appreciation of these subjects. She has extensive training through the Indian Wisdom School on mythology, mantra, Sanskrit, and yoga philosophy. Storytelling is another skill often used in her teaching. As an experienced physician, now retired, she appreciates that the practice of yoga is well suited to support health and well-being in a holistic way. She believes that yoga should be accessible to all, and that pranayama and meditation are part of a well rounded yoga practice.
