I am Petra, a certified yoga teacher E-RYT500 and a lawyer in one :-) It is this unconventional combination that helps me within teaching yoga better understand people with sedentary work and overall high work commitment. That's why I created the Office YOGA project as a form of yoga invitation to our everyday life. Join in and let yoga go beyond the limits of your yoga mat...
This is my "yoga story"
I train and do various sports from early childhood and really every day. Running, fitness training, bicycling, dance, pilates or yoga – to which I was led because of my stormy mind and aching back at the time I was studying law. Since then more than twelve years passed and today I am also a lawyer and most hours at work I spent by reading and writing, and all of that, of course, in a sitting position.
I know very well what are the consequences of long hours spent sitting, and since then when I was studying I found yoga to be the tool which brings relief and compensation. I found yoga to be that sport, which can be practiced both physically and mentally, anywhere (yes, also without a mat) and anytime during the day, also beside the working desk. The only “things” that you need to practice yoga is your body and conscious breath to catch your mind’s attention. Within the mind I am curious about the various tools of how to work with it, mainly based on scientific results, and within the body I follow the rules of anatomy and physiology, in accordance with the individual needs of each of us, to avoid injuries and to be sustainable.
After six years of everyday practice I decided to start teaching yoga as I wanted to pass my experience and knowledge to other people. As Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT500 (Power Yoga – 50hrs – YoGo – accredited by Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic, Hatha & Vinyasa Flow Yoga – 200hrs – Samasti Yoga, Bali – accredited by Yoga Alliance, SUP Yoga – 25hrs – Island Yoga, Malta – accredited by Yoga Alliance, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – 300hrs – Yoga Union, Bali – accredited by Yoga Alliance), teaching yoga for more than 10 years, my aim is to help people, who need to be fit, physically and mentally, since they deliver great results at work, and even though they enjoy career successes, their physical and mental well-being many times suffers (unfortunately many realise that only after long years have passed).
I believe that long term success is mostly possible due to healthy body and positive mind set. I am sure that both can be achieved, that it does not have to be one, or the other, thanks to the well-being and work-life balance approach. Try it out through my compensating Office Yoga, rehab Physio Yoga or dynamic Power Yoga classes and the summer version of yoga - SUP yoga.
