Specializing in teaching Gentle and Restorative yoga, Kerry is the founder of Bloom Yoga Studio. As co-creator and director of Bloom's 200 hour and 85 hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training programs, Kerry loves mentoring budding yoga teachers as they explore new facets of their relationship to yoga practice and begin the journey of teaching.
Kerry's down-to-earth teaching style emphasizes healthy alignment, gentle strengthening, mindfulness, and an exploration of conscious breath and movement. Whether teaching an active or gentle practice, Kerry encourages students to make the practice their own and prioritizes time for reflection, stillness, and rest. As a recovering past- and future-thinking junkie, she loves the way consistent yoga practice teaches us to live in the now so we may enjoy all of life's richness.
Kerry has been teaching yoga since 1998 and has completed over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training. She is an E-RYT 500 as well as an RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher). She received an MFA in Writing from University of San Francisco and is the author of Thinking Yogi, a blog that examines the intersection of yoga and everyday life. Kerry is pleased to serve as chair of the board for Yoga Alliance.
Kerry is a Relax and Renew® Advanced Trainer with Judith Hanson Lasater, and she has also completed a specialty training in Curvy Yoga with Anna Guest-Jelley.
