Channa first came to yoga for the physical benefits hoping to lose weight and become more fit. As her body became stronger and healthier she soon discovered that her yoga mat was a place to find a sense of contentment, self-awareness, and mind body connection. When Channa decided to enroll in Yoga Teacher training, she only hoped to deepen her own practice, however the more she learned and grew as a yogi, the more her intention turned to teaching and sharing the practice she loves with others.
As a teacher, Channa realizes that yoga is not a “one size fits all” practice, and that every person is on a different path. She tries to offer her students the opportunity to take that path in their own way at their own pace, to modify when needed and to honor how they feel at all times. Channa finds immense joy, satisfaction, and inspiration in seeing students discover their own personal yoga journey and hopes to nurture and encourage them along their way. Channa’s teaching style is inclusive for all, with the goal of creating a safe space that allows each student to show up exactly as they are.
Channa has been teaching since 2019 completing her 200 & 300 hour trainings @ Five Peaks Power Yoga in Leesburg, VA. She also completed 300 hours of training in functional yoga with Exalt Yoga in Indianapolis in 2020. Her focus was functional yin/vinyasa and MFR (myofascial release – 50 hours in this specialty). Channa has over 1200 hours in trainings.
Whether you are coming for a physical challenge, a spiritual connection, some laughs, or all of the above, it will be “your yoga”. Your body is your best teacher, learn to listen to it. Your mind is your biggest distraction, learn to quiet it!
