Amy Fogarty DNP, RN, RYT 500, C-IAYT, AYS
I’m a lifelong learner, trauma-informed yoga teacher, ayurvedic yoga specialist, and registered nurse. My work centers around supporting people to be well and to live an embodied life aligned with their inner wisdom and truth.
I guide group practices, work one-on-one with private clients, lead online workshops, and guide retreats. I currently facilitate yoga groups in an eating disorder treatment program and I guide several open community practices each week. I'm also honored to serve as the director of yoga for a leading eating disorder treatment center in the U.S. In addition to working in eating disorder treatment, I also have experience facilitating yoga groups in treatment courts and for substance use treatment programs.
I work and share from the perspective that we are all on our own unique journey and that I am a fellow traveler walking the path too. I recognize that we are all sovereign beings with our own inner wisdom - and I invite each person to honor their wisdom as they make each practice their own.
Some of my favorite things to share include: somatic movement practices, breath practices, therapeutic yoga, traditional yoga, mindfulness, meditation, mudras, yoga philosophy, relaxation techniques, and Ayurvedic lifestyle practices.
I am committed to making my offerings accessible, inclusive, and trauma-informed.
Education: I earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The College of St. Scholastica. I completed yoga teacher training and yoga therapy training at Yoga North ISYI. I have 40-hours of training in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) principles. I completed my Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist training through the Himalayan Institute.
