A devoted yoga practitioner since 2006, Jennifer King is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT, having completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2010 with Kim Valeri of Yoga Spirit Studios, an approved RYS based out of Hamilton, MA. Specializing in yoga for older adults, Jennifer completed a Master Professional Training in Integrative Yoga for Seniors at Duke Integrative Medicine with Carol Krucoff and Kimberly Carson in 2011. She has also completed the "Yoga for the Rest of Us" teacher training with Peggy Cappy in Peterborough, New Hampshire and the Silver Age Yoga certification in 2011. She is a Certified Qigong Community Practice Leader, having trained with Roger Jahnke, O.M.D. in 2012, and recently trained as a Tai Chi Easy practice leader with the Institute of Integral Qigong and TaiChi in 2023. She has been a Reiki Practitioner since 2015, and a Reiki Master as of 2021, training with Libby Barnett through the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
Jennifer has a keen interest in studying yoga and meditation for anxiety. She has studied mindfulness and meditation extensively with Stephen Cope at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and completed Sharon Salzburg's "Boundless Heart" meditation training. In April of 2015, she completed a course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with the UMass Medical School Center for Mindfulness.
Jennifer has been teaching yoga classes since 2010 and has also presented mindfulness meditation workshops in senior centers, community centers, at churches and corporate employee retreats across Connecticut.
