Yoga has become a way of living and being for me. I began practicing in 1999. At that time I was a mom of two toddlers, and a full-time early elementary school teacher; yoga offered me a freedom from the stress and tension of my daily life, and a deeper feeling of connection, peace and contentment, allowing me to release my need to over-control situations and learn to accept the inevitable bumps that came with living this life. Over the years, yoga has given me strength, resilience, flexibility and balance, not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well. It has become an ingrained part of who I am and how I relate to the world. I truly believe EVERYONE can benefit from yoga's connection of the body, mind and breath, which helps restore natural health, alignment and functionality to one's whole being. I support clients in reaching their own personal health goals, while also giving them tools so they can take charge of their own health and state of mind, both on and off the mat. By becoming more aware of body alignment, they can adjust their posture or movement to prevent muscle fatigue, injury and/or joint issues. By becoming more aware of body cues, thoughts and feelings as they arise, students can make more deliberate decisions about their reactions to stressful situations encountered in daily life, often reducing or eliminating the stress responses. My ultimate purpose is to help create a supportive, nonjudgmental society of joyful, healthy, connected, mindful yogis who can live peacefully and happily alongside one another...one person at a time.
