Jennifer’s goal in any yoga class is to help you feel empowered, but she knows this is especially important during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. Each class at Center City Studio is tailor-made with practical tools you can take with you off the mat and into your motherhood journey. Students can expect to learn how to support their pelvic floor, find their voice, strengthen their bodies, and relax deeply. With a firm understanding of biomechanics and how it relates to the yoga practice, pre and postnatal students can expect accessible classes that combine the best of mobility, strength, and breath work. Jennifer has been teaching since 2017 when she graduated from OmBodies Yoga & Functional Wellness in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and she is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher.
Jennifer’s motherhood journey began in late-2019 when she discovered she was pregnant with her first child. Her yoga practice was a vital tool from the start, but it became even more important when the COVID-19 pandemic began at the end of her second trimester. Through breath work, meditation, and focused movement, she was able to stay mentally steady and deliver her healthy baby boy in June of 2020. However, the pandemic made her feel isolated from other pregnant mothers, and postpartum was a rocky journey. She desperately wanted to attend pre and postnatal yoga classes, but yoga studios were shut down across the country.
Fast forward to June of 2021, Jennifer attended prenatal yoga teacher training with Birth Humanity in metro Detroit. Through this training, she was able to add to her yoga teaching skill set with the goal of connecting Great Lakes Bay area mothers and creating the community she wished she’d had back in 2020. Yoga was once again key while pregnant with her second child, who was born in August of 2023. Jennifer is delighted to create a safe space for pregnant and postpartum parents!
