Yoga came to me as a teenager at a time when I was struggling with grief, depression, and substance abuse and it literally saved my life. Over the years I have always come back to yoga to help me get my life back on track. Yoga to me is about quieting my mind and grounding my spirit into my body. My intention in sharing yoga is to help others discover the transformative power of the practices for themselves. I’ve explored bhakti yoga (the path of devotion) deeply. I love to sing and lead kirtan. I have also trained in the Laughter Yoga technique and enjoy bringing laughter, playfulness and lightheartedness to my classes. I am also trained in Chair Yoga for older people, and I love working with the over 60 population. Keeping yoga simple and accessible to all levels, especially beginners is important to me. I believe moving the body and connecting with the breath intentionally is enough to create change. It is my goal to hold a space for others that is inviting, comforting, soothing and soulful.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School.
