Helaine Sheias, PhD is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Helaine is a Kripalu inspired Hatha Yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT500). She holds a doctoral degree in Human Sciences and is a graduate of the Socially Engaged Spirituality program at Saybrook Graduate Institute. Helaine is the originator of Yingenuity, an earth-based spiritual approach to health and well-being, in which she incorporates Yin Yoga as an essential part of her yoga teaching. The Yin approach works to promote flexibility in areas often perceived as non-malleable, especially the hips, pelvis, shoulders and neck, and lower spine.
A pious believer in the Yogic “my body is my temple” philosophy, Helaine’s life passion is to introduce yoga as an instrument for transformation and awakening thus bringing about a greater sense of spiritual consciousness and bodily awareness to individuals. Her goal is to teach people how to maintain sacredness in their lives by consistently embodying a sense of “wholeness,” as they explore their relationship with mind, body and spirit, from a place of equanimity and self-acceptance. As a Yin Yoga instructor and an international group facilitator for more than a decade, Helaine embraces yoga as the key to bridging people together in truth, trust and integrity.
