After years of practicing yoga casually, I began to seriously practice yoga for my 2016 New Years resolution. I was inspired by instructors who took the time and care to incorporate proper alignment into my practice. Through yoga I began to untangle webs that I had been caught in, and saw patterns in myself that kept repeating… Yoga provided the vehicle for me to step outside of myself and see the bigger picture. It helped me so much that I felt compelled to teach and share my experience with this ancient and comprehensive knowledge✨
In April 2016 I completed my RYT 200 hour in an intensive program at the Art of Living Facility in Boone, North Carolina, through the Lotus Pond Yoga Teacher Training Program. I am privileged to say, I studied under the tutelage of Val Spies (Iyengar/Kripalu), Anne Curtis (Iyengar) and Roger McKeever (Kripalu). I am excited to spread my knowledge and be of service to this wonderful, global, yoga family.
Spanning September through October 2017 I completed my RYT 300 hour in Sattva Yoga, which incorporates Kundalini, Tantra and advanced Hatha into one AMAZING wholeness practice! I traveled to the source of Yoga for this training in the foothills of the Himalayas, just outside Rishikesh, literally by the great Ganga River. It was the experience of a lifetime and I am so proud to say that I have broken my India seal... I plan on making a yearly pilgrimage to this magnificent and magical land✨
Over the course of 2017 my path also led me to study Reiki and become a Reiki Master, which I like to incorporate into my classes and offer private in-home or in studio sessions! As of this year (2018) my path has expanded further into the field of Astrology and Tarot reading... incorporating the motion and energy of the stars into my classes. Also, offering private in-home and in studio sessions based on your specific natal chart data.
I am particularly interested in the meditative qualities of Yoga and incorporating the power of the breath into every movement-- awareness of the body and the mind and how that interrelates to the space we move through in our daily lives is something I hope to impart onto others so that our lives and communities may be filled with more peace and joy as we each travel along our own journey called life🙏🏼✨
