George took his first Yoga class with Kate Garland in 2004, after a friend dared him to try Yoga. Despite his initial skepticism, he found that a breath-centered approach to Yoga practice had amazing physical and psychological benefits, and has been an enthusiastic practitioner of Yoga ever since.
In addition to consistent practice for nearly nine years, George has also completed a two-year, 500-hour Yoga teacher training program with Robert Birnberg, where he gained a deeper understanding of the discipline’s philosophical and psychological foundations. George is nationally registered Yoga Alliance instructor, and continues to study with Kate and Robert.
George views Yoga as a set of tools for physical, psychological, and spiritual transformation, which he is eager to share with his students. His classes are gentle, yet appropriately challenging, and centered around the breath. In addition to his Yoga credentials, George has a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University, and manages a department of scientists at a local aerospace company.
