Nicole initially became interested in yoga for the physical benefits, but committed to a consistent practice when she noticed how it challenged her patience, humility, and ability to achieve stillness of mind. Nicole feels yoga is the union between mind, body, and spirit and enjoys that yoga is a continuous journey that offers the necessary tools needed to navigate the waves of life.
Through her physical practice, she has been able to confront and overcome her fears, let go of ego and attachments, and surrender herself to the present moment. She has seen the positive change that yoga has had in her own life and the strength she has gained mentally over the years to help move through unexpected challenges as they come.
Nicole hopes to ultimately convey this message to her students, as it made a significant impact in her own life. Every time you step on the mat you are given the opportunity to learn and grow in new ways and Nicole considers the practice of yoga a never-ending lesson in learning how you relate to not only others, but to ourselves.
After years of practice, which mainly consisted of the physical asanas, Nicole began to realize that yoga offered her strength and comfort in the most challenging phases of her life and decided in 2014 to complete her training to share her passion of yoga with others. Nicole received her first 200-hour training certification from Jai Yoga Arts, Brooklyn, New York where she studied Vinyasa Flow with a focus on alignment, breathing techniques, yoga philosophy, hands on adjustments, and meditation.
Since then, Nicole has reevaluated her life; leaving her over a decade career in the New York City art world to focus on furthering her yoga education, teaching, and starting her company, WanderFreely. She continues to expand her knowledge of yoga by taking classes and workshops with teachers such as Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, Avani Gilbert, Coby Kozlowski, Noah Mazé, and Shiva Rea.
Nicole completed her first 200 hour certification with Jai Yoga Arts in Brooklyn, NY, in 2014 and her second 250 hour certification with Caribe Yoga Academy in 2018. She is currently working on her 300 hour advance level certification through the Kripalu Center of Yoga & Health. Under the guidance of Coby Kozlowski, Nicole completed her Souluna Life Coaching certification. She currently teacher yoga, coaches, and assists on Yoga Teacher Trainings and Leadership programs as she continues to grow her company, WanderFreely, LLC., with the mission to connection people in community through yoga and life coaching.
