While Jessica originally turned to yoga after an injury, the practice and fundamentals of yogic living have become fundamental to all aspects of her life. Jessica received her certification as a RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor from Kali Yuga Yoga in the spring of 2015. She is also an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified Group Exercise Instructor and has been a YMCA fitness instructor since 2009.
While avid about all forms of yoga, her true passion is teaching it to elementary school children. By exploring exercise as a means of play and entertainment, each class includes a balance of breathing, movement and relaxation. Students also learn how to incorporate these concepts into everyday scenarios like overcoming trouble focusing in school, help with relaxing at night or new ideas for dealing with an upset tummy.
Jessica received her Master of Business Administration degree in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in 1998. She maintains a full-time career in software consulting and training. More importantly, she is raising an incredible 10 year old son and trying to protect her favorite shoes from their rescue dogs Samurai and Moose.
