Welcome! I am a dedicated yoga teacher specializing in Classic Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Hatha Yoga. What started as a reluctant experiment in 2007 became the foundation for CONATUS YOGA, a space where everyone is welcome to explore the power of yoga. Dive in to read more.
My Yoga Journey
Beginnings
My journey with yoga began in 2007 in the US when, following my orthopedist's advice, I attended a yoga class. I left the session in shock and vowed never to return. For years, yoga remained off my radar.
Rediscovery in India
In 2015, during my first trip to India, yoga was pervasive, but it didn’t appeal to me. A friend I met there, named Kai, urged me to check out a yoga studio back home that was free and wonderful. Hoping he’d forget, I reluctantly agreed, but luckily he didn’t. When I came back home, he called and said, “Come downstairs, we’re going to yoga.” I went, and from that moment, yoga became a part of my life.
Falling in Love with Yoga
I fell in love—with my body, my soul, and what the practice revealed within me. The sessions were gentle yet assertive. Over time, my body grew stronger, more flexible, and more open to movement. I knew I would eventually take a yoga teacher training course—not to teach, but to deepen my understanding.
Teacher Training
In 2017, the opportunity came. I joined Shakti Mai’s teacher training course in the Czech Republic, spending a month in ashram-like conditions. We practised yoga for hours daily, hiked in the forest, cooked meals, cleaned, studied, and lived simply. I rediscovered myself.
Founding CONATUS YOGA
Returning home, I dreamed of creating an inclusive yoga space for everyone, regardless of religion, race, or gender. Later that year, I opened CONATUS YOGA and started teaching—taking the plunge. My students have taught me so much that every compliment I receive on my teaching feels like it truly belongs to them.
Since practising yoga, I’ve become calmer, more open-minded, and more attuned to others and the world around me. My body no longer aches as it once did, and my flexibility now extends to my mind and emotions—helping me embrace reality and act with awareness and presence.
Yoga has been my remedy—for my hyperactivity, sensitive soul, once-fragile body, and the rigid religious mindset of my upbringing. After stepping away from those beliefs, yoga became the best decision of my life, and I’m proud to pass this tradition forward.
About the Studio
Design and Atmosphere
My teaching space is designed with care to create an atmosphere of calm and serenity. The studio features a clean, aesthetic, and harmonious design, offering practitioners a tranquil environment to unwind and focus. We emphasize balanced aesthetics by incorporating soft, natural tones like white, cream, wood, and green. The materials used—particularly the abundant wood elements—help create a minimalist and visually soothing space that encourages meditation without unnecessary distractions.
Karma Yoga Principles
In line with the principles of Karma Yoga, we maintain a daily cleaning ritual in the studio to support the mental and physical well-being of everyone who practices here.
What to Expect in My Classes
When you join my class, expect a thoughtfully guided practice lasting 1 to 1.5 hours, focusing on mindfulness, alignment, and creating a deep connection within yourself. Whether you're seeking relaxation, physical strength, or a moment of peace in your day, my classes offer a welcoming space for all levels.
