Dr. Sandra Boysen Sluberski is an E-RYT500 and YACEP, teaching workshops, classes and Kirtan through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center's Online Yoga Studio (www.onlineyoga.school) and in person with various studios. She completed her 200- and 300-hour training through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center under the guidance of Steph Ball-Mitchell, and her Level 1 Kundalini teacher training with Yogi Mehtab & Guru Karam (www.yogimehtab.com). She offers a series of yoga workshops on mantras, chanting, and literary epics, including The Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita Upcoming videos will include the Bhagavata Purana and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. She is the author of Taking Myths to the Mat, the companion book to the YACEP of the same name, available through Amazon in paperback, ebook and audio book formats.
She leads monthly in-person Kirtan sessions at Mythic Treasures in Henrietta, NY (www.mythictreasures.com), and leads Sound Bath experiences at various yoga retreats and locations in and around upstate NY. Sandra is also one of the original teachers for the Sound School, an online training course offered by The Ohm Store (www.theohmstore.co). She did her Kirtan training with Mike Cohen, founder of the Kirtan Leader Institute (www.kirtanleader.com).
She sang in concert nationally & internationally for 40+ years, with over 70 opera, oratorio, concert and musical theatre roles to her credit. She holds the M.M. and D.M. degrees in voice performance from Florida State University’s College of Music, and is in her 25th year on the voice faculty at the Hochstein School, which honored her with the Faculty Service Award in 2013 and the Faculty Excellence Grant in 2019.
She provides voice-over talent for commercial/media venues through SBS Vocalworx & West Rush Media LLC. Audio books for which she was the narrator are available on Audible and Amazon Kindle. She’s married to Dave Sluberski, professor of audio recording at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Film & Animation / Magic Spell Studios, and recording engineer for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. When not behind a microphone or a piano, Sandra is on the yoga mat, or enjoying her Silkie hens, or is in the garage working on cars with Dave, who enjoys being married to a yogini.
