My lifelong study of movement has taken me on an incredible journey from dance and competitive sports to a career in Interdisciplinary Movement. My background includes working in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, corrective exercise, and fitness education specialist. I also owned and operated a premier boutique fitness studio. I've trained in and taught Aerial Arts, TRX, Mat Pilates, Self Myofascial Release techniques, Thai Bodywork, and dance fitness. My yoga teacher training and thirty-year yoga practice are deeply rooted in alignment-based Vinyasa, with an emphasis on Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Baptiste lineages. And I've completed much of my yoga training within these ancient yogic traditions. In addition to completing a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in Hatha + Hot Power Vinyasa, I've also completed the YogaWorks 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Certification and devoted an additional 200 hours of study to Yin Yoga with Sagel Urlacher& Josh Summers. I completed my Professional 300-hr Yoga Teacher Training at Down Under School of Yoga, under the guidance of Natasha Rizopoulos, accompanied by some of Boston's most highly revered yoga teachers, including Barbara Benagh, Claire Este McDonald, Gregor Singleton, and Justine Wiltshire Cohen. I've also trained as a holistic, evidence-based Birth Worker, Doula, and Childbirth Educator and completed my 85-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Bec Conant of Om Births. I've also completed 100 hours of study in Yoga Nidra and 150 hours of training in Restorative Yoga with Judith & Lizzie Lasater, Jillian Pranksy, and Cyndi Lee. In addition, I completed my 100-hour Meditation Teacher Training with David Nicthern, Senior Teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist Lineage. I've also completed 100 hours of evidence-based Mindfulness training, including training with Mindful Schools and Little Flower Yoga. I complement my movement work as a Reiki Master Teacher and Sound Healing professional. Having completed over 500 hours of study in the science and practice of Sound Work, I am proud to bring over a decade of hands-on experience to this transformative modality. In addition to working privately with clients, I lead Crystal Bowl Meditation workshops and multi-instrument Sound Baths throughout New England. My goal with every class is to help my students build mental and emotional resilience, physical strength, and flexibility and restore and maintain balance while moving freely and without pain. I draw upon my diverse background to deliver safe and effective classes while encouraging an inward journey that is empowering and light-hearted to remind practitioners to enjoy their journeys while nurturing their hearts, minds, and bodies. As a lifelong learner and an observer of Svadhyaya, I engage in regular self-study and often pursue educational opportunities supporting my multidisciplinary teaching toolbox.
