Guru Yogi Prakash, founder of Shanti Yoga Ashram, was born in the family of the enlightened yoga master Yogi Hari Dhungana. He has been practicing yoga since the age of twelve and studied at the Bihar School of Yoga. For the past 10 years he has continued to deepen his knowledge in Nepal with an authentic Tantra yoga master. Even before the establishment of Shanti Yoga Ashram in 2001, spiritual seekers have found their way to Guruji’s front door to receive his teachings, which he generously shares with much devotion.
For the past 18 years he has been fully dedicated to teaching yoga both at home and abroad. He has circled the globe introducing the deeper aspect of yoga practice that until now has not been fully presented in the western world. With this purpose he has published the book Tantra Yoga, The Classical Yoga, that illustrates the complete depth of both the practical and philosophical aspects of this yoga system.
Wanting to preserve this yogic culture for future generations Guruji has founded The Divine Yoga School, which provides children with free education, fusing academics with yoga. Furthermore, with the intention of making Tantra Yoga available in the west, he has established Shanti Yoga Ashram U.S.A., a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing this profound wisdom.
His mission is to preserve the ancient teachings in their pure form and to spread this light of Tantra throughout the world.
