A Great Day for Oms in the Outfield

On Sunday August 30, Yoga Alliance®’s Media and Public Relations Manager Cavia Mead sponsored Oms in the Outfield at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. This year’s event was sold out and some early morning rain did little to dampen the spirits of the over 1,200 yogis in attendance.

As always, we were delighted to talk to all the Pittsburgh yogis that stopped by our table. We spoke about our advocacy efforts, Member Perks and Online Workshops. We even had a chance to talk to a few future yoga teachers who are currently enrolled in yoga teacher training programs and who plan to become YA members.

Cavia recalls his favorite moment being when he saw PNC Park go from completely empty, to covered in yoga mats in a matter of minutes. While in the outfield, Cavia enjoyed one-on-one conversations about Pittsburgh’s growing yoga community and our state-level advocacy efforts.

Yoga Alliance is always interested in connecting with our community; we love hearing your story and sharing ours. Thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization for being such great hosts and our partners prAna, Gaiam, Ahnu and Hugger Mugger for providing raffle prizes.

Look for us in Pittsburgh again this time next year. In the mean time, you can visit us at the Southeast Yoga Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from September 25 – 27. We’ll also be at Yoga Journal LIVE! in Estes Park, Colorado from September 27 – October 4. Whenever YA will be on the road hosting or attending an event, you can find it Our Calendar. See you soon!
