SB 186 Passes Senate 32 - 1!

March 6, 2015

Today, the Colorado Senate approved Senate Bill 186 by a 32 - 1 vote! The bill, which is strongly supported by Yoga Alliance®, would exempt yoga teacher training programs (YTTs) from unnecessary regulation by the Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools (DPOS). As a sign of support for our industry, a bipartisan group of lawmakers even performed yoga poses when announcing their cosponsorship of the legislation!

We heartily thank the Colorado Senate on this important step toward protecting the Colorado yoga community!

On to the House!

SB 186 will soon be considered by the Colorado House of Representatives.

Please help us educate the House about why this legislation is so important. We have created a new template letter targeted specifically to House members for you to download. Just find the name of your House member, print, sign and send.

Help us Finish the Fight!

With your support, Yoga Alliance has advocated fiercely on behalf of the Colorado yoga community over the past four months and is committed to advocating for legislation that will protect YTTs from unnecessary regulations once and for all. The work we do requires a lot of help from our legal team and local lobbyists, and as more issues arise in states all over the country, we need all the help we can get to continue our service to the yoga community. Please help us finish the fight with a financial contribution.

Thank you for your support. Without your help, our incredible strides to protect Colorado's yoga community would not have been possible.
