Tamika Caston-Miller is a yoga educator and urban farmer in Houston, Texas. She is the founder of Ashé Yoga Collective and School, and the co-owner of The Ranch Houston, a Third Space and urban farm in the Houston, TX Southside. Tamika curates nature-immersive yoga workshops, trainings, and retreats in service to collective healing and community repair. Focusing on moving traditionally marginalized people beyond marginalized realities through truth-speaking, collaborative work, and collective rest, Tamika aims to build intersectional, intergenerational, multiethnic communities in which radical compassion, agency, and self acceptance are normalized. Her modern application of ancient principles is inspired by her understanding of yoga as a practice of right relationship with others, the planet, and Self.
Reggie Hubbard is the founder and Chief Serving Officer of Active Peace. He is a gifted strategist, teacher and communicator with an innate ability to inspire change and simplify chaos. The guiding principle behind his work has been a commitment to truth telling, healing, social justice and holding space for transformation– as an activist, organizer, teacher and human being. He began yoga and meditation practices under extreme emotional distress at work. Through the blessing of ancestral guidance, consistent practice and curiosity he offers peace practices to all walks of life through sound, asana, meditation, wisdom sharing and community care.
Reggie has taught diverse audiences ranging from major yoga festivals to Members of Congress and Congressional Staff; labor unions to established yoga institutions; non-profits to major corporations. He is a featured speaker/thought leader on politics, social justice, and civic engagement for leading publications, podcasts and platforms including: Be Here Now Network, Kripalu, Mind and Life Institute, Omega Institute, Sedona Yoga Festival, SoundsTrue, Upaya Zen Center, Wanderlust, the Wellbeing Project, Yoga Alliance, Yoga International and Yoga Journal.
Gail Parker, Ph.D., C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, YACEP is the author of Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma, and Transforming Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma with Yoga. She is a psychologist and a certified yoga therapist. She was President of Black Yoga Teachers Alliance for four years from 2020-2024.
Dr. Gail is well known for her pioneering efforts to blend psychology, yoga, and meditation as effective self-care strategies that can enhance emotional balance, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of practitioners. She is a faculty member in the Kripalu School of Integrative Therapy, teaching in the mental health module. Dr. Gail is a lifelong practitioner of yoga.
